Live Steam Locomotives by Hornby
In celebration of a remarkable miniature engineering achievement. A live Steam LNER Class A4 "Mallard" locomotive that can be remotely driven. No naked flames or flamable spirit. The water in the engine's boiler is heated by safe low voltage electricity, which is passed along the track together with control signals that open and close the locomotive valves. Therefore with a little practice the operator can determine the directin, control the speed and stop and start a live steam locomotive - just like the real thing.
