Why this is perfect for YOUR collection:
Diamond Jubilee Isle of Man doubled cover
The year 2012 sees us celebrate the 60th year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and next to Queen Victoria is the only monarch to celebrate their Diamond Jubilee. This is a remarkable milestone for a Queen who's dedication and service to her nation and people continues to contribute to her popularity, and is certainly something deserving of a big celebration!
The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
Dancers, musicians, and military and equestrian displays from around the world will come together for three nights in May, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, to start the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee. On 19 May nearly 2,500 troops from the Royal Navy, the Army and thew Royal Air Force will parade through Windsor Castle and town before Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh. They Will then muster in the castle grounds for a unique event before an audience of more than 3,000 Armed Forces personnel, their families, and veterans.
The party begins on Saturday 2nd June when Her Majesty attends the Derby at Epsom, followed by the Big Jubilee Lunch, with street parties all around the UK. Then, at high water in the afternoon, up to a thousand boats will muster for the River Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. It will be one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river. There will be rowed boats, working boats and pleasure vessels dressed with streamers and Union flags. There will be boats for the armed forces, fire, pilot, rescue and other services. There will be an exuberance of historic boats, wooden launches, steam vessels, and other boats of note. Among them will be the Little Ships of Dunkirk with Buckingham Covers on board! There will be passenger boats carrying up to 30,000 flag-waving members of the public in this floating celebration of Her Majesty's 60 year reign. There will be music barges and boats spouting geysers. There will even be specially constructed floats such as a belfry, its chiming bells answered by those from the riverbank churches.
